Wine and Cheese Pairing  > Brie

Brie Cheese and Wine Pairing

Description: Brie is the most famous cheese from France. Brie is characterized by an edible, downy white rind and a cream-colored, buttery-soft interior that should "ooze" when at the peak of ripeness. Brie can be made from raw or pasteurized, whole or skim milk.

Type of Milk: Cow

Where is it Produced: France

Wine Pairings:

Vouvray: The mineral aspects of this French white match well with the similiar flavors of the cheese. There might even be some chalky tastes to both.
Pinot Blanc: This crisp, acidic, and citrus like zing of the Pinot Blanc and the Brie give a refreshing experience.
Champagne: The creamy nature and deep flavors of the Brie make a nice contrast to the bubbles and crispness of Champange as well as sparkling wine.
