Wine and Cheese Pairing  > Camellia

Camellia Cheese and Wine Pairing

Description: Camellia is a handmade goat's milk cheese crafted in the Camembert style. It is made by one of the first U.S. artisan farmstead cheesemakers, Red Wood Hill Farm, and is one of their standout cheeses.

Type of Milk: Goat

Where is it Produced: United States

Wine Pairings:

Chardonnay: The California Chardonnay, with its rich, buttery, and oak notes pairs well with the creamy, mineral elements in the cheese. The more the cheese ages the stronger it gets and the richer the two combine.
Viognier: Rich, acidic creaminess of a Viognier just cuts through the butterfat in the cheese. The crisp, bright fruit in the wine and the rich, savory flavors in the cheese go together so well.
Pinot Noir: A medium weight Pinot Noir with compliment the creamy and runny texture of the cheese.
