Wine and Cheese Pairing  > Chaume

Chaume Cheese and Wine Pairing

Description: Chaume is typically made from cow's milk and has a soft rind with a bright orange color produced in Dourdogne, France. It has a nutty, buttery taste, but can sometimes be slightly sharper depending on the maturity of the cheese.

Type of Milk: Cow

Where is it Produced: Fair Play

Wine Pairings:

Chardonnay: The rich buttery tastes of the cheese matches well the similiar tastes from a California Chardonnay. A Chardonnay that has little to no oak notes matches best.
Fume Blanc: The crispness of the wine cuts through the butterfat of the cheese. When tasted together they produce a great mouth feel and a broad pallet .
