Bordeaux’s Next Generation
I recently decided to start blogging about some of the fascinating figures in the wine world. I have some fun ideas, and I have a feeling everyone is going to enjoy these posts. But, I’ll start with a Decanter story that caught my attention. Decanter recently reported the launch of Bordeaux Oxygène - “A group of young wine professionals representing 18 different estates have come together in an effort to promote a younger, fresher, more vibrant image of the region, specifically to compete on the international stage.” (Link to full story)
WineFetch likes to think of itself as tapped into the younger generation of wine consumers in the U.S., so we’ll be keeping an eye on Oxygène. We all know how intriguing lifestyles of the rich can be - and throw the word Chateau into any heir’s description, and the name is all the more sexy and intriguing. We imagine a luxurious life filled with star-studded dinners at Michelin-rated restaurants, drinking only first growths on private planes, and bathing in champagne. Rest assured, if these Bordeaux Babies are as intriguing as Paris Hilton, which I am sure some will be, Oxygène will no doubt find an audience in the U.S.
