Meritage, by definition, is a U.S. winery's best wine of its type, and its production is limited to a maximum 25,000 cases per vintage. Furthermore, It must be a blend of two or more Bordeaux grape varieties (maximum 90% of any one), including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc (and others) for red, and Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadelle, and Semillon for white.
