Rioja is an area in Spain, famous for producing the best Spanish table wines. Rioja tend to be made in the Bordeaux style of France. The extensive use of oak for aging, although less practiced than in the past, imparts vanilla hints. Red wines from Tempranillo and Grenache grapes make up the majority of the production.
